What courses does ACPTS offer?

The nationally recognised Australian Caravan Park Training School is a registered training organisation dedicated to providing a high standard of training to meet the personal and career objectives of participants.  We presently offer:

  • RMS Preferred Trainer

  • Additional post course work experience for selected 2017 courses.

Is the Australia Caravan Park Training School courses nationally recognised and accredited?

Yes, by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). Nationally Recognised Training Offered by ACPTS:

Does ACPTS offer RPL and Credit Transfers?

Credit Transfer:

You may be eligible for a credit transfer if you have previously undertaken training through a Registered Training Organisation.  Credit transfer may be granted for one or more units. Three major factors need to be considered:

How current the statement of attainment is mapping to the current training and If the training was undertaken by a Registered Training Organisation.

If you think you may be eligible for a credit transfer, you will need to provide the following:

  • The original Statement of Attainment and/or Certificate for your Trainer to sight
  • Or a certified copy of your Statement of Attainment and/or Certificate signed by a Justice of the Peace (JP)

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):

Recognition of Prior Learning is the process of formal recognition for skills and knowledge gained through previous learning such as:

  • Life experiences
  • Previous formal learning
  • Employment
  • Recreational, or personal interests

You may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning for part or all of your intended study, based on your previous experiences and learning. For more information regarding RPL and how to apply, please discuss this with your Trainer.

How long does the course take to complete?

Your intensive one week program commences Monday morning at 8.30am, participants whom have completed all of the assessment activities and events, and have been deemed competent by their workplace trainer and assessor are eligible to receive their certificate of competence.

 How is the course delivered?

Our course is immersed in the BIG4 North Star, therefore our course is delivered face to face, with keynote speakers, demonstrations, interactive videos, workshops and presentations. Participants are provided with the opportunity to enter each department at a supervisory level as an overview of the operation conducting quality assurance audits and hands on computer reservation system training.

We are often asked if participants can study external via distance education. Under certain circumstances we can assess the many factors that may involve this method of delivery should this be your preference. We may be able to assist you in this capacity, should your background and personal circumstances facilitate this delivery mode.

How many courses do you offer a year?

In 2017 there are five courses scheduled.

How many people attend the course?

Participants usually number 24 per course.

Is Work Experience offered as part of the course?

In 2017 Back by popular demand is the opportunity to stay back a few extra days post course, to practice your newly acquired skills. Please select your course dates and check availability of this offering.

What are the course fees and what does that include?

Single $900.00
Double $1600.00

Food: Your course fees will include Morning and Afternoon tea and Lunch

How can I pay for the course?

Payment Methods: Credit Card or direct deposit

Fees for enrolment must be paid 4 weeks prior to commencement of course.  If booking within 4 weeks prior to commencement of course, all fees are payable at the time of booking.

What type of work is there available after completing the course?

There are a variety of casual, part-time and full time positions required within the industry. From relief management positions for set periods of time to contractual and tender positions for shire and council parks. Matching your own personal style and work life balance with your chosen style of park is one of the rewarding aspects of joining our industry.  Whilst we are not an employment agency, we do offer a point of referral to prospective employers. Upon completion of your course, should you decide to complete a career expression of interest form, we may then be able to forward your details to Park owners and operators that contact us looking for suitable graduates.

How do I register for this course?  To register for a course participants are initially required to, complete an Enrolment form online from our website and pay a deposit for both the Training School and Accommodation/Site (if applicable)  and then provide full payment four weeks prior to arrival.

 What if I need my Statement of Attainment to be re-issued?

In the event of a lost or damaged statement of attainment, please complete the ‘change of enrolment’ form to request re-issuance of a Statement of Attainment and return with payment of $55 (including GST).

What to bring

  • Course Requirements – Calculator (can use your phone), Highlighter, Laptop, Pen and note paper

Accommodation Requirements

All applicants staying with us receive a 20% discount on the total tariff of their Accommodation or Site.  This is not valid in conjunction with any other discounts or offers i.e. BIG4.

Powered Site:   All Power Sites are landscaped, suitable for both tents and caravans.  Please advise whether you have a tent or a van and what the length measurement is. This way an appropriate site can be allocated to suit your needs.

Ensuite Site:  These sites come complete with a toilet, shower and vanity and are suitable for tents and caravans.

Parking: One vehicle per site

  • Fees for accommodation (if applicable) must be paid 4 weeks prior to commencement of course. If booking within 4 weeks prior to commencement of course, all fees are payable at the time of booking.
  • Fees need to be paid in order to receive your statement of attainment.
  • Accommodation choices can be found on our website. All our accommodation has Air Conditioning in the main living area.
  • Linen is supplied for all accommodation.

Refund Policy

If you are unable to attend the training on the dates booked, if we are notified of the cancellation 14 days or more prior to course commencement, a refund less a $50 administration fee will be forwarded to you. Cancellations 14 days or less will be offered the opportunity to enrol in an alternate course.

Should The Australian Caravan Park Training School cancel the training agreement, a fair and reasonable refund will be granted, if fees are paid in advance. Charges will be incurred for administration and services provided prior to cancellation.

Airport pick-up and transfers

Please advise should you require an airport pick up or transfer.  Please note we only pick up / transfer from the Gold Coast Airport at Tugun.  This service is available for flights between 8am -6pm inclusive and is subject to availability.

Driving directions

How to get to us from the North:     Take Pacific Hwy, take the Tugun BPS, veer left at Chinderah Road Exit, veer left onto Tweed Coast Road, go straight ahead at the Traffic intersection, through the roundabout at Cabarita Beach, arrive at the North Star next to the BP Station.

How to get to us from the South:      Take Pacific Hwy, veer left onto Pottsville Road continue through the roundabout  (take 2nd exit) continue along Coronation Ave, at the next roundabout take the 1st exit onto the Tweed Coast Road, go through 3 more roundabouts and arrive at the North Star next to the BP Station.
